New Wellies!

Since this horrible british weather doesn't seem to be going anywhere anytime soon (most probably here to stay all summer) i thought i better invest...

I would have liked the navy blue wellie's but they didn't have my size, so i went with the green ones instead! The wellies were £35 in the sale on joules website which i thought was a bargain! Everywhere else, they are still ranging around £60. So grab a pair now!

Andrea Joseph how i do love you

I love Andrea Joseph so much, her talent is beyond anything i could ever dream to do... Andrea, sketches everyday objects and things she see's in her moleskins with wonderful coloured ballpoints/biro's. Her work is just fascinating.

I've recently introduced Biro/ballpoint drawings into my Key Stage 3 schemes of work in class, and my pupils are absolutely fascinated by her work when i show them the introduction slideshow with her work in, all my pupils are taken back by a gasp and then a slow Wowwwwwwwwwwwwww follows. Pretty amazing really, especially when you have up to 30 11-16 year old children to entertain at one time! And them along with me, don't think they will ever pick up a biro and look it the same way again. The 'fiver' (above) is the one where the kids actually get up off their seat and touch the projector screen, 'no way,' 'as if,' 'that's amazing.'
I reckon your way cooler than Picasso AJ...

Clap Clap. i heart you.

take a look at her fascinating sketchblog here and here

John Mayer on BED

BED

My whole life I've hated going to bed. I like falling asleep instead. Falling asleep is so much better than going to bed because you don't get tangled up in the logistics. Falling asleep happens for you, even if it means waking up at eight to the sun assaulting your eyes while a block of metal videos are playing on VH1 Classic. Then all you have to do is scamper over to your bed where you can capitalize on how fresh the memory of how to sleep is and instantly dip back into slumber. Going to bed invites performance anxiety. Going to bed means you have to confront a final moment of consciousness. I'm not a fan.
I hope you all fall asleep well tonight.

Barbie by Christian Louboutin.

Get me one of these. Please. End of.

Christian Louboutin has collaborated with Barbie to create 3 limited edition collectable dolls. The 'anemone' (shown above), the 'cat burglar' and 'dolly forever.' They come with a collection of 4 red-soled Louboutins, each with their own shoe box and bag! They retail at £100 on net-a-porter.com, which for 4 pairs of Louboutin shoes i think is a bargain. Although you may have trouble squeezing into them. I need one.

DEADLINE post-it stop motion

Masterpieces

My kid sister's A-Level work. So proud. God know's why she's going to do Business at Uni?

Ah, summer, what power you have to make us suffer and like it.

Today i saw the cutest ice cream van, sat lonely on the coast of Morecambe.
The pretty lady only sold traditional fruit ices, and 99 ice creams, with not a bright wrapper in sight. On the counter stood a vase of the sweetest pink flowers and inside was decorated with floral chintz and homemade matching paper chains lined the windows.

Noel Fielding, an artist?

Work from the Psychedelic Dream of the Jellyfox

Well it turns out Mr Fielding is an artist. And a good one at that. Attending Art college back in his day, before he got sidetracked into comedy... The paintings themselves are, well, what you would expect from fielding, expressionistic, colourful, and full of jokes.

I'd like to own a piece of Fielding's Art,this piece above in particular...

check out fielding collection here.

i was lost but now i'm found...

Ok, so i know it's been about 2 years since i showed my face on my blog, i apologise, but quit sobbing now, i'm back!

A lot has happened in 2 years, and i'm not denying it's been dramatic. On calculation i have moved house 6 times yes! 6 times! and i have started my career as a qualified teacher in art and photography, purchased my dream car, lost an appendix, these amongst other personal highs and lows. But i'm feeling at peace and settled again and life well, life is getting back to normal as i know it. I've been through an immense period of frozen creativity and found myself slightly lost, but having found it again, the future seems bright...

It's good to be back.
*but please be patient whilst i get everything back to the way it used to be...

Olympus Pen E-P1

I am very much excited about the arrival of my new Olympus E-P1, after many attempts on trying to locate one in white (since they are discontinued) and my hatred for the Newer replacement; the E-PL1 Pen and its 'tacky' pop up flash... BUT i eventually found one... *sigh*
I can't wait to start shooting, I am building up all this creative energy awaiting it's arrival, extremely eager to use the art filters.
Check out the E-P1 encrusted limited edition here...

I haven't felt this excited about a camera since the diana dreamer fell into my arms... The next on my list is The Leica limited edition White camera, but that is just a distant camera dream...

New ride...

Since one of my Best friends received a beautiful Electra cruiser 'blanc et Noir' bike my heart was at a flutter and i have been searching for something equally as beautiful for myself. After searching for the perfect ride, and my head filled with how wistful my life would be with one, I am torn between these two finalists, and they are now on my wish list for this coming christmas... The Electra Amsterdam Original 3i in powder blue or seafoam green (I'm undecided), or the Pashley in poppy pink.

Hmmmm decisions decisions...

P.s When i look at the pashley i remember the times of me laughing at my mum when she won a Pashley bike in a Laura Ashley competition (complete with basket) and i took the mick out of her for her 'old fashioned' piece of crap. i think i even stopped going for bike ride's with her out of embarrassment. Oh how times change...
